Ever wonder about our simple but most critical and time consuming process in making your furniture? Read on... As you may already know we purchase all our raw wood material from Java. These root wood, are dug up from the grown from left overs of trees (the top part of the tree) that had already been cut off many years before (please note this, we dont cut trees, we help REFORESTATION, by digging up the remaining roots so that land space can be used again to plant more trees). We then select and purchase these root wood and stock them in the several hectares of our land space close to our workshop in Bali. We dont use these wood directly to make your furniture, instead we just leave them out to dry, out in the open under the suns heat and rain ( we call this process the NATURAL DRYING & TESTING). If a wood proves to be faulty and of no quality, before a year it will crack and cannot with stand the heat and rain, and because of this we will not use them to make your furniture ! items. But if it passes the year, then it passes the critical natural drying stage, and these root wood will be good enough to be used for your furniture items and we will not expect it to crack after being shipped to a low temperature country such as Canada. So, we dont only stock finished items, but we also stock many root wood.
